
 Subhen is a well-known personality in the bay area. Subhen’s musical inspiration came from his mother who is a Rabindra sangeet singer and plays the Esraaj. Tagore at times visited his maternal grandfather’s house for an evening get together of music and poetry recitals. Subhen started learning tabla at the age of seven and moved on to playing the guitar. Subhen is a self-taught musician for the most of his musical career. Subhen was the lead in his school and college bands and won several prizes in interstate competitions. He developed the knack of singing from listening to his sister, who also inspired and motivated him. Subhen is a natural singer and likes to sing all kinds of music
Subhen has performed in Calcutta and Bangalore in India and in several cities in the US. He has played for All India Radio and has accompanied Menaka Thakur, Manna Dey and Abhijeet (Bombay) in concerts. Subhen was also involved in the opening of Ashish Khan's music school in New Jersey. He performs regularly in various cultural events in the bay area and is associated with several music bands here. Subhen also plays the keyboard and loves to compose songs and create music tracks.
Subhen currently works for Avaya. His ardent love and passion for music is well known in the bay area. He is married to Mala (who, an engineer by profession, is also a kathak dancer and a stage actress) for 10years and has a young daughter named Shaheen.
